I have always loved painting since getting my first studio in Cardiff after leaving home aged 17.
I completed my degree in Fine Art and my PGCE in 2000 and have had an interesting career in the arts, lecturing in Stroud and Cirencester college, Eastwood park women’s prison , Infobuzz, Artshape , as well as working freelance in schools festivals libraries and community spaces.
Escaping into a painting gives me joy and a sense of magic and control. The excitement of working on a painting when it all comes together is a wonderful feeling.
I recently started making large scale works since setting up my outdoors studio at Wildacres CIC which is brilliant fun and very exciting.
Painting gives me an opportunity to escape from the stresses and pressures of modern life.
